Forget Me Knot silk scarves are the product of hand-drawn illustrations by French artist/designer Coco, in a collaboration with Yazmin Rizvi.
It’s cool to see how the design translates once it’s tied up in scarf-mode!
Available online for purchase at a hefty $257 (€ 178.00).

Mohawk General Store is based in Los Angeles but many of their carefully chosen goods are available online. Great taste and many very likable things for gals and guys.
I particularly liked (listed in order of the pics): People In Summer Safari sunglasses by Super; the Grey Perf Chuckman shoes by The Generic Man; Mini Sac in Red by Vivier; the Picnic in Black clutch by Marie Turnor; and the Rebozo Tunic in Blue by Carla Fernandez.

A cape is just the thing! Leave it Postalco, the dreamy and subtle Japanese brand that produces beautiful, simple objects such as notebooks, satchels and now, rain capes. Available in dark green or dark blue and made from 100% water resistant nylon. Now if only they didn’t cost almost $400 and weren’t so hard to find…sigh. At least the sun has reappeared in NYC.

Project Soul Cell was designer Jesper Jonsson‘s thesis project last year. I’m hoping to see this developed as a real product sometime soon. It’s an attractive and intelligent lantern — small and collapsible, and powered by the sun through the panel at the top. This one is sized for soft lighting and hangs easily from the little handle. Jesper suggests hanging it from your bike handles when you’re set up for an evening picnic in the park.

ShackletonThomas (established crafters of handmade furniture and ceramics) runs The Naked Table Project. The project consists of several weekend programs a year at their workshop in Vermont where 15 participants work with the ShackletonThomas team to build their very own dining table made from locally harvested, sustainably grown, Vermont maple wood.
In addition to the woodworking lesson, the program also includes a woods visit with a professional forester who explains the system for sustainable lumber sourcing. At the end of the weekend, when all the tables are finished, they join the tables together (75′ long) for a final celebratory meal.

Some friends took me to the Brook Farm General Store this weekend, tucked into a quiet storefront on South 6th Street and Berry in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It’s a wonderful shop filled with soft whites, linens, new and vintage products — basically a million things I wanted to buy for myself and as gifts. Reasonable prices too. Here are some pics of products available from their online store but make a trip to the shop if you can for an in-person browse.
Above, Sugar Spoon ($12) and Canvas Essentials Bag ($29).

Anglepoise lamp ($250) and Bensimon sneakers ($50).

Canvas Tool Bag ($68) and Linen Day Blanket ($225).

Florentine Rose Water ($12) and Recycled Ball Vase ($25).

Cotton Hammam Towels ($68) and Savon De Marseilles ($12).

House Beautiful featured this tiny and tremendously classy NYC studio apartment in the current issue. I’ve been pouring over the pages and wanted to share some images here with you.
It’s owned and decorated by interior designer Ellen O’Neill. The soft black and cream color scheme maintains the light and airy quality of the space. This tiny dream (with a large terrace overlooking Gramercy Park) is pretty tempting.

A friend passed along a link to these Flower Grenades. I’m sensitive to weapon paraphernalia but these grenades are for good! And how clever!
“Throw and grow.” Wildflower seeds distribute when these things hit the ground and explode. Available for purchase from Suck UK for £12.00 (but only within the UK…).
