Erie Basin is owned by antique dealer and collector, Russell Whitmore. His shop is located on Van Brunt street in Red Hook, Brooklyn and a select inventory is available online for purchase.
I haven’t had a chance to visit his storefront yet, but perusing his virtual one alone has been magnificent. The stock is mostly antique but there are a few pieces from contemporary designers, such as Conroy + Wilcox who designed the ring ($1570) pictured above, made from 18k Gold and Tumble Cut 5 Carat prasiolite (which I had to look up).
1890′s French Jet Fan Brooch — black glass and metal ($150)
1920′s Fossilized Mammoth Ivory and Diamond Ring ($350)
1930′s Diamond Ring ($1650)
1870′s Hair Work Lyre Pendant in 14K Gold ($195)

still slobbering.
